Simon Green aka Bonobo is back with his sixth album – the masterful, magisterial “Migration” – is a record which cements his place in the very highest echelons of electronic music and beyond. By turns lush, manic, beautiful, melancholy, joyful, packed with both emotion and technical skill, this is perhaps his most ambitious attempt yet to capture the very textures of human existence in his work, as Green says of the broad dynamics on the album, "Life has highs, lows, loud and quiet moments, beautiful ones and ugly ones. Music is a reflection of life." Bonobo’s last album, “The North Borders”, went Top 30 in the UK and was number 1 in the electronic charts in both the US and UK. In support, his 12-piece collective (over an 18 month period) played 175 shows across four continents and 30 countries, wowing a total audience of around 2 million people. In fact, Songkick reckoned him to be amongst the most travelled artists on the planet that year. The tour included two sell outs at the Sydney Opera House, an all-day festival at the Roundhouse culminating in a sold out show at Alexandra Palace (10k cap) plus a number of high profile festival slots. Over the course of five albums for the legendary label Ninja Tune, a myriad of tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, Bonobo has built a large, loyal and engaged global fan base: over half a million album sales and over one hundred and fifty million streams on Spotify point to the levels of success achieved by this quiet, self-effacing man. Most recently, Bonobo curated an international series of Outlier events including a sold out all day festival at Tobacco Dock in London and further parties in Berlin, Madrid, Paris and New York.

Ott & The All-Seeing I w/ Bluetech

The Brain Trust Presents:

Ott & The All-Seeing I w/ Bluetech

Middle East Restaurant and Nightclub

Friday, 5/26, 9pm

Ott & The All-Seeing I

Ott is a British producer & musician. Influenced by the love of organic dub and pristine electronics, he combines bass-heavy rhythm, abstract soundscapes & timeless melodies into a huge, ever-shifting sonic universe, intended to convey a spirit of hope & positivity.

Ott has been messing about with sound boxes every day for as long as he can remember. Having spent the ‘90s flitting between his day-job as a freelance studio engineer and long weekends under the stars at psychedelic trance parties, the obvious next step, as the millennium turned, was to create music of his own from the jumble of sounds which filled his head.

After teaming up with Twisted Records, 2002 saw the release of the acclaimed ‘Hallucinogen In Dub’ album, followed in short order by his first solo effort, ‘Blumenkraft’ in 2003. 2008 saw the release of ‘Skylon’ and in 2011 the album ‘Mir’ was born.

A pattern has formed: every four years or so an album coalesces from the chaos, heads out into the world and takes on a life of its own. 2015 was one of those years.

Financed by a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, Ott built a new studio, filled it with vintage sound-creation toys and locked the door, vowing not to emerge until a new record was born. The original 6 month deadline came and went but, a year after he started, the thing was finished - 'Fairchildren'.

Bluetech’s most recent release is called Basement Dubs. "In my efforts to be an example of change in the way I approach and utilize technology in my art, I am attempting to convert my work space to a solar powered studio. Funds raised from the sale of this EP will go towards this goal, and your support is greatly appreciated" - Bluetech

Containing 3 remixes and 2 originals, ‘Basement Dubs’ gives a taste of both of the forward thinking downtempo dancefloor worlds to be featured on the upcoming full length album ‘Illuminated Gates’, as well as some of the emotionally resonant ambient soundscapes that are contained on the impending full length release ‘Dreaming Into Being’.

Bluetech's upcoming album "Illuminated Gates" is about liminal spaces, the spaces in-between known & unknown. Music never stops. There is ALWAYS some loop repeating in his head, something heard or something new that’s wanting to find a way out and be planted like a seed & grow into a song tree

Crawling behind his living room soundsystem listening to classical music with headphones on when he was 4, was when he first fell in love with music. He left his body and traveled through the landscapes of sound. It all began with a piano.

His music continually grows. He’s come full circle in many ways, with new releases this year having a strong ambient quality to them that is reminiscent of his early work. It has evolved though; the musical geometries unfold in different ways, and move in different directions.

Ben Silver & Black Data

The Brain Trust & Beandream Productions Present:

Ben Silver & Black Data

Wonder Bar

Wednesday, 3/22, 9pm

Ben Silver

You might know Ben Silver as one-third of Orchard Lounge, the long-running Chicago DJ collective that also includes Spencer Lokken and Bethany "Queen B" Lokken. The trio's tag-team sets pack in bass-dropping techno and house, sunset chill-out grooves and other futuristic sounds. Orchard Lounge has had residencies at clubs around the country, including Smartbar in Chicago, Vagabond in Miami and Love in New York. They’ve gigged at established venues like Red Rocks and Hammerstein Ballroom, and major festivals, including Lollapalooza, Coachella and Electric Zoo.

Ben Silver's solo project has him spinning psychedelic house and techno as well as producing original material alongside songwriting partner David Hammond. In fall 2015 he released the well-received "Solar" and "Lunar" DJ mixes—in October, Beatport named “Solar” one of the "Top 10 Mixes of the Month.”

Ben is also readying the release of his debut EP, which is a collaboration with David Hammond. It's tracks are suitable for a wide range of styles, with some parts harder hitting and others more exploratory.

Black Data

Black Data emerges from a deep, orphic place in the human condition. The dj/producer duo are intent on slowly infiltrating a listener's musical mind with music crafted with a severe attention to detail. Meant to be assimilated as avant-guarde tales, Black Data’s pieces compel you to move in tandem with the meticulous intention fused at it’s core. It is suggested that one comes prepared for sounds both eccentric and stirring. Matt Kenny and Kyle Roberge have grown together as musicians for years in Philadelphia, Connecticut and currently in Boston. Black Data is the natural progression of experiments in understanding the sounds they love, allowing them to now operate in that space beyond. The musical influence of the Black Data project is both offbeat and raw. A calculated listen to one of their mixes will unearth elements of trip-hop, classic blues, tech, dark country, and house. Under various monikers, they have cued up tunes on most dancefloors in the Northeast including Brooklyn’s Verboten; sharing bills with the likes of Abakus, Soul Clap, Tiger and Woods, Edit Murphy, Tipper, Orchard Lounge, Blockhead, and Treasure Fingers. Music muddled with emotion and patience can be expected from Black Data. As for their next move, it is sure to remain seductively cryptic.

Hippie Sabotage
Sacramento-born and raised brother duo Hippie Sabotage started to make music in the mid-2000s. Working closely with local producer Chase Moore during their early career, they mixed the cultural melting pot vibes of their hometown with hip-hop and produced beats for rappers such as J. Leake and Yukmouth. They later collaborated with Chicago-based artists such as Calez of 2008ighties and Kami de Chukwu. Hippie Sabotage developed and expanded their beats and soon incorporated more diverse influences on their tracks for a whole new host of rappers such as Alex Wiley ("Something to Say") and C Plus ("Callin' Me"). They released their own material with the EP Vacants in early 2013 and followed this with a couple more singles ("White Tiger" and "Sunny") throughout the same year. It was only in spring 2014 when singer Ellie Goulding posted their remix for "Stay High" by Swedish singer Tove Lo (songwriter for the likes of Icona Pop and Girls Aloud) on Instagram that they began to get worldwide attention. The song reached over a million hits following Goulding's endorsement and signaled a bright future for the duo.

Ghostface Killah @ House of Blues San Diego

As one of the original members of the seminal '90s rap crew the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah (aka Tony Starks) made an impact before he released his debut album, Ironman, late in 1996. Like all members of the Wu-Tang Clan, the rapper used the group as a launching pad for a solo career, which was assisted greatly by other members of the Clan, particularly producer RZA. Ghostface Killah had rapped on Wu-Tang's 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang, but he didn't distinguish himself until 1995, when he was showcased on fellow Wu member Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Ghostface received good reviews for his appearance on the record, and his contribution to the soundtracks for Sunset Park and Don't Be a Menace to South Central While You're Drinking Your Juice in the Hood were also well-received. All of these guest appearances and soundtrack contributions set the stage for Ghostface Killah's solo debut, Ironman, in late 1996. Like all Wu-Tang projects, it was produced by RZA and was quite successful in the large hip-hop/rap underground, debuting at number two on the pop charts upon its release. Ironman was also the first album to be released on Razor Sharp Records, RZA's record label on Epic Records.

Galactic w/ Robert Randolph & The Family Band

Galatic w/ Robert Randolph & The Family Band, plus Con Brio
House of Blues
Thursday, 3/9, 7pm
$27.50 adv tickets

It’s been more than 20 years since Ben Ellman, Robert Mercurio, Stanton Moore, Jeff Raines and Rich Vogel began exploring the seemingly limitless musical possibilities born out of their work together as Galactic. Since then, the seminal New Orleans band has consistently pushed artistic boundaries on the road and in the studio, approaching their music with open ears and drawing inspiration as much from the sounds bubbling up from their city’s streets as they do from each other. A key part of that creative spark comes from the teamwork of Mercurio and Ellman, whose ever-evolving production and arranging skills helped usher the band into a new phase of studio work beginning with the loop-centric “Ruckus” in 2007. A series of albums focused around specific concepts like Carnival followed, as did collaborations with guests hailing from worlds outside the one Galactic calls its own. On “Into the Deep,” the band members look within themselves instead, drawing inspiration from people and ideas that have long been close to their hearts – and, in turn, close to the development of their unique sound. Shot through with soul, funk, blues and rock, the result is an organic riff on elements of Galactic’s past, filtered through the lens of where they’re headed in 2015.

Robert Randolph & the Family Band
A virtuoso on the pedal steel guitar, Robert Randolph set the music world on fire in 2000 when he began playing his first club dates in New York City. Randolph started playing the instrument as a church-going teenager in Orange, New Jersey, a small city just outside of Newark. He regularly attended the House of God Church, an African-American Pentecostal denomination that had been implementing steel guitars (or "Sacred Steel") in services since the '30s, with the pedal steel in particular being introduced during the '70s. Randolph learned to play by watching other steel players during church services; years later, he updated that sacred basis with a secular mix of funk and soul, giving a new multicultural facelift to an instrument that had often been associated with country music.

Con Brio
A contemporary jazz and fusion band led by saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. The first recording they made titled Con Brio was issued in 1983. It also included bassist Bruce Gertz and drummer Jeff Williams. the trio made others recordings with Bob Gullotti and Williams alternating on drums, and guitarist Mick Goodrick on board for the third album The Ray. Bergonzi went on to make other duo and quartet recordings without The Con Brio tag.

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
House of Blues
Saturday 2/25, 7pm
$29.50 adv tickets

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic
The mastermind of the Parliament/Funkadelic collective during the 1970s, George Clinton broke up both bands by 1981 and began recording solo albums, occasionally performing live with his former bandmates as the P.Funk All-Stars. Born in Kannapolis, NC, on July 22, 1940, Clinton became interested in doo wop while living in New Jersey during the early '50s. He formed the Parliaments in 1955, based out of a barbershop back room where he straightened hair. The group had a small R&B hit during 1967, but Clinton began to mastermind the Parliaments' activities two years later. Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, the group revolutionized R&B during the '70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-'60s acid heroes: Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine ruled black music during the '70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles (including three number ones) and recording three platinum albums.
Computer Games By 1980, George Clinton began to be weighed down by legal difficulties arising from Polygram's acquisition of Parliament's label, Casablanca. Jettisoning both the Parliament and Funkadelic names (but not the musicians), Clinton signed to Capitol in 1982 both as a solo act and as the P.Funk All-Stars. His first solo album, 1982's Computer Games, contained the Top 20 R&B hit "Loopzilla." Several months later, the title track from Clinton's Atomic Dog EP hit number one on the R&B charts; it stayed at the top spot for four weeks, but only managed number 101 on the pop charts. Clinton stayed on Capitol for three more years, releasing three studio albums and frequently charting singles -- "Nubian Nut," "Last Dance," "Do Fries Go With That Shake" -- in the R&B Top 40. During much of the three-year period from 1986 to 1989, Clinton became embroiled in legal difficulties (resulting from the myriad royalty problems latent during the '70s with recordings of over 40 musicians for four labels under three names). Also problematic during the latter half of the '80s was Clinton's disintegrating reputation as a true forefather of rock; by the end of the decade, however, a generation of rappers reared on P-Funk were beginning to name check him.

Dark Star Orchestra @ House of Blues San Diego

Dark Star Orchestra @ House of Blues San Diego
Tickets: bit.ly/DSOSD

Using entire shows from the Grateful Dead’s decades of touring as a launching pad, Dark Star Orchestra recreates song for song performances straight from historic set lists. Not merely mimicking the Dead, DSO instead seeks the individual style of each era and offers its own interpretations and improvisations for a group famed and loved for their interpretations and improvisations.

Having toured worldwide to the tune of over 2000 shows, Dark Star Orchestra’s determined commitment to ‘raising the Dead’ has drawn them much critical acclaim.

Critics aren’t the only ones singing Dark Star Orchestra’s praises. Five original members of the Grateful Dead have played alongside DSO and have had this to say:

“Playing with Dark Star Orchestra is something that feels just exactly like it felt when I was playing with the Grateful Dead.”
– Donna Jean Godchaux, Grateful Dead vocalist, frequent DSO guest

Made up of Jeff Mattson (lead guitar/vocals), Lisa Mackey (vocals), Dino English (drums), Rob Koritz (drums), Skip Vangelas (bass), Rob Eaton (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Rob Barraco (keyboards), Dark Star Orchestra does not try to match Grateful Dead live songs note for note. Anything more formulaic would quickly dispel the free spirit embodied in the music.

Precision is king with DSO, which position the stage plot based on the year of Grateful Dead show to be performed, adapting phrasing, voice arrangements, and even arranges specific musical equipment for the various eras of Dead music performed. At the end of every performance, the band announces the date and venue where the original show just covered took place. Dark Star Orchestra dips into every incarnation of the Dead, so most fans can “see” shows that happened long before they were born.

Dark Star Orchestra isn’t a cover band. Its shows are not even meant as tributes. What Dark Star Orchestra achieves is a continuation of the spirit of what has now become over forty years of the Grateful Dead’s timeless music.

BoomBox is two versatile producers, DJs, songwriters, multi-instrumentalists and longtime friends Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux. Together they develop an electronic blend of vintage Rock and Blues made to move dance floors while incorporating their signature Backbeat, Psychedelia and Funky House sounds. Applying a multi-track platform, they are free to create their hybrid style on the fly with a rhythm that moves fans and opens them up to Godchaux and Randolph’s overall vision. Derived from the rich musical history of Muscle Shoals, AL, to the psychedelic rock and underground electronic scenes of the west coast, their unique approach can only be achieved by the blending of sound and culture.
Each live show is unique to the venue and the crowd, who are the driving force of the rhythmic BoomBox experience. “It’s all natural, it’s all in real time, and that’s why it’s Rock ‘n’ Roll”, says Godchaux. Traditional set lists are never created prior to shows, instead, BoomBox chooses the music based on the atmosphere, to create a one-of-a-kind experience for fans. Randolph adds, “We just want to go out with no game plan. That way it’s fresh for us, and we can follow the energy of the crowd. We’re down to get down, and we hope that people are down with us.”

Cherub & The Floozies

Cherub & The Floozies w/ special guest Probcause
House of Blues
Friday 2/17, 7pm
$23 adv tickets

Inspired by '80s post-disco, synth pop, and funk, Cherub is an irreverent and fun-loving duo based in Nashville, Tennessee that consists of Jason Huber and Jordan Kelley. The two met while studying music production at Middle Tennessee State and built up a fan base by making their releases payment-optional, as well as through word of mouth and live performances, including appearances at Lollapalooza and the South by Southwest and Bonnaroo festivals. Among their earliest releases are the EP Man of the Hour (Elm & Oak, 2011), the album MoM & DaD (Elm & Oak, 2012), and the EP 100 Bottles (self-released, 2013). After they signed to major-label Columbia, they released Year of the Caprese (2014), which featured "Doses & Mimosas," a nonchalant yet pugnacious single that reached number 21 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart. Bleed Gold, Piss Excellence (2016) was also issued through Columbia.

The Floozies
The Floozies are producer/guitarist Matt Hill and drummer Mark Hill. These two brothers are bringing their fresh approach to electronic music and live performance to venues and festivals all over the country. The duo's combination of cutting edge electronic production and party rocking funk energizes crowds and turns venues into epic dance parties. All of The Floozies music can be downloaded for free from www.flooziesduo.com.

With a polished sound that spans far outside the boundaries of hip-hop- ProbCause seamlessly jumps from dubstep – to rock- to R&B than back to a classic boom-bap gritty rap sound. With stories that make you reminisce and a percussive delivery that highlights his unique production ProbCause is one of the most exciting and versatile touring acts.

ELM - Electric Love Machine
Electric Love Machine (ELM) is best described as an outer space adventure through sound, infused with doses of electronic funk, traditional Americana and improvisational jazz, and whose foundation is built on a sense of community. Their first full-length album, XenofoneX, touches upon the aural sense, and travels through one’s heart, makes a stop in the brain, all while travelling across the cosmic plane.

ShwizZ is a unique cast of characters reigning from New York. Best described as a melting pot of funk and progressive rock, this giant original sound will be sure to put a smile on your face. The band's variety and depth allows for lovely twists of improvisation and spontaneity spiked with technical prowess and musical complexity.

HEISS is a Boston based producer who creates music as a process of Spiritual growth, his primary objective being to share Joy and Kosmic Awakening with those who listen. HEISS recently toured California and has provided direct local support in Boston for Gaudi, Random Rab, Little People, Govinda and Soulular. In Summer 2015, he is performing at Pass The Good Festival in Pensacola, FL and Three Days Of Light Festival in Asheville, NC.

Divinely inspired and genre agnostic, his sound is made up of driving electronic beats and psychedelic soundscapes. Some tracks contain beautiful melodic lines and lush harmonies while others explode with force providing complementary polarities which are exemplary of the Integral philosophy behind his work.

He has been producing music for record labels under various monikers since the 1990’s but after a hiatus from the tour life where he produced music for a variety of network television programs, he reinvented himself as… himself, with an album under his own name. “Awake(N)” was released in late 2012 containing twelve-tracks in a vintage electronic style combined with futuristic elements indicative of how his style was developing. Since then, he has continued to build momentum with the album “Ascensio(N)” and an album of remixes by transformational producers called “Awaken(D)” on Transcendent Tunes, the label he founded, as well as his most recent album “Absolutio(N)” - drawing attention from media outlets and establishing himself as an act on the rise.

Zoses - Your DJ/artist curator
"What’s great about DJ’ing nowadays is being versatile is more fashionable than ever before. Coming up in the vinyl age when you were panned as a “jack-of-all-trades” if you played anything outside the microcosm of a single sub-genre, the way many curate music in 2015 is like a breath of fresh air. Take Boston’s own DJ Zoses for example. A recent upstart willing to simply play “good music” instead of genres, Zoses has no problems navigating through myriads of tempos, straight and broken beats, vocals and instrumentals, and anthems and obscure slow-burners alike." - Beantown Boogiedown: http://www.beantownboogiedown.com/beantown-boogie-down-on-the/

Zoses has been playing in and around Boston for years and has shared the stage with artists like: Ott, Govinda, Phutureprimitive, Blockhead, Random Rab, CloZee, Hedflux.. and many more.

Latin for "to the Heavens," Caelis is a musical quest to transcend our worldly experience from the mundane to the divine, through creativity and community.

Alex Russo
Local Boston DJ and keys of Proplydz. One of the founders of Music Ecology. Always putting together forward thinking beats!

G-Nome Project
G-Nome Project has been regarded as "Israel’s premier Livetronica band" by the likes of Relix Magazine, performing what Live For Live Music deems "impressive and surprising shows."
Formed in September 2012, G-Nome Project is rapidly building one of the most loyal fan bases in the country, packing venues to capacity in their home city, Jerusalem, and expanding rapidly to the heart of the artistic scene in Israel’s center in greater Tel Aviv. The band is comprised from a super group of four nationally renowned musicians – Eyal Salomon, Zechariah Reich, Chemy Soibelman, and Shlomo Langer – who each bring a distinctive flavor to the dynamic electro-funk palate of this Jerusalem-based quartet.
Fans of many backgrounds flock to the band’s shows for the music, good vibes, and hardcore dancing that exemplify the character of the G-Nome community. Building on their success in the Middle East, the band has embarked on five international tours in the USA and will be returning to America for the Winter 2017 Groove Tour.

The Mushroom Cloud
The Mushroom Cloud is an explosive funk rock band from New Haven, CT consisting of Paul Harris (guitar, keys, vocals), Charlie Mazur (bass, vocals), and Russ Harris (drums, percussion). Since they formed in 2011, The Cloud has been blending funk, rock, jazz, and electronica into cleverly written passages of music, mixed with powerful improvisational jams. Their truly organic and original sound takes listeners on vibrant journeys in their heads and on the dance floor, and their unique energy resonates deep in the soul. With their second full length album on the way, things are just heating up for this bright young band! For tour dates and more go towww.themushroomcloudmusic.com.

X&G @ Wonder Bar

X&G at Wonder Bar
Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017
Doors: 9:00pm

TIX: http://wonderbarboston.tunestub.com/event.cfm?cart&id=253386

Ever since California-natives Christian Williams (Xian) and Aaron Spasiano (Gaszia) put their solo projects on hold and joined forces to create X&G, their sound and influence on the beat-making community has matured and stretched to farther reaches than either of them ever thought they’d see. They became recognized by outlets like Thump and NestHQ for their debut EP only four months after establishing the duo, and quickly went on to attract the attention of vocalists and collaborators from all corners of the spectrum. Josh Pan in particular, a shadowy Skrillex-endorsed producer behind one of the trap/hip hop scenes’ most fascinating and diverse offshoots, took a lasting interest in the duo, leading to several noteworthy collaborations.

ft. Heiss
Wonder Bar

Ill Gates:

ill.GATES is a bass droppin', educatin', oscillator modulatin' space genius from the future. You can catch him slaying dance floors on five continents as well as on the interwebs over at illgates.com

KJ Sawka:

KJ Sawka plays some of the rawest drums around. And that's before he adds electronics. On an acoustic drumset he creates the whirs, delays, effects, and sonic dislocations of electronic music. Adding an arsenal of devices further broadens his palette, providing an atmospheric bed for his extremely visceral drumming. "I really try to re-create the drum machine beats of electronic music with an acoustic drumset, simultaneously triggering the actual snare, kick, and hi-hat sounds," Sawka explains from London. "I try to sound as electronic as possible. I become the machine."

Lettuce is a New York-based funk band whose members have become individually successful as well. The collective’s driving, goodtime party music and magnetic live performances have been witnessed on recordings and radio programs, in clubs and concert halls, and on festival stages all over the globe. Its founding members include guitarists Eric Krasno and Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnof, keyboardist Neal Evans, drummer Adam Deitch, saxophonists Ryan Zoidis and Sam Kininger, and bassist Erick “E.D.” Coomes.

Lettuce got together in 1992 while still in their teens. They were attending a summer program at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and were drawn together by a mutual love of Earth Wind & Fire,Tower of Power, and jazz funk acts like Headhunters. Staying in touch and informally jamming together over the next year, they reassembled formally in 1994 upon returning to Berklee as undergrads. A live set was put together and members went door to door at jazz clubs asking owners to “let us play.” Their name derives from those origins.

Freddy Todd

Freddy Todd is truly a master of his craft not only in the studio but on stages across the globe. Without any pre-recorded sets, Freddy has the skills and the audacity to perform on the fly mixes of 100% original material tailored to his specific audience, mood, and venue each night, be it a theater in northern California, a club in the back alleys of Detroit, or an outdoor festival in the bush off the eastern coast of Australia (occasionally on special nights with his live drummer forming the FT Live Band/Duo). His earth shattering, meticulously programmed beats & rhythms, his lazer crunk, funky psychedelic bass & sound design, and his brain tingling, intelligently soul-soaked synths, melodies, & field-recorded samples are sure to shake your consciousness as they blast through airwaves out of top notch sound systems across the universe while Freddy serenades you with 100% live & improvised get-your-booty-on-the-floor analog Moog synthesizers & keytar, loop triggering, and occasional drums & percussive elements. Be careful where you don’t look.

Eliot Lipp

Eliot Lipp is a veteran musician and sound designer gearing up to release his 9th studio album. After more than a decade living in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York (but equally home on the road), the intrepid producer returned to his roots in the Pacific Northwest before recording the album, much of which came together over a single inspired weekend.
Returning home provided Lipp with new inspirations for his blend of sampledelic funk and techno inspired hiphop beats. The mossy green woods and snowy mountains of the Pacific Northwest were essential to the ambiance and texture of the sounds. The result is a digital landscape filled with beautiful analog creations.
